ALLISON & RON
Allison
PET SITTER, CLIENT CARE COORDINATOR

My name is Allison Silvio and I was born and raised in Mobile, AL. I have an M.Ed in Special Education with an emphasis in learning disabilities. I've lived on the Eastern Shore for most of my life. I grew up with dogs and cats and I've owned so many over my lifetime. I absolutely love animals! I'm a teacher by trade and taught students with special needs for years at various schools in Mobile.

I've also worked for several different caregiving companies in the area, running the office, doing scheduling, billing, and taking incoming calls for potential leads. I have one son, KJ, who is a junior at LSU. I'm a BIG Bama fan and a fun fact about me is that I'm a former Queen of the Mystics of Time Mardi Gras Association.

Ron
PET SITTER, MANAGER

My name is Ron Schindler Jr, and I'm the owner and senior manager of Happy Hounds Pet Sitting. I've lived in Mobile and Baldwin Counties all my life, and caring for animals is in my blood for generations. My father, Ron Schindler Sr, was a veterinarian in Fairhope and Bay Minette, AL for over 40 years. My grandfather Louis Schindler was also a veterinarian for over 40 years, and my great grandfather was a veterinarian, farrier, and blacksmith.

I grew up in the back of a veterinary clinic, and started officially working for my dad as a kennel technician when I was a teenager, eventually working up to veterinary assistant and office manager. For over 30 years I've done every job in a vet clinic that can be done without a veterinary license, from scooping poop to vaccinations to assisting surgery. In college, I studied computer science, philosophy, biology, and geology, worked as a tutor in algebra and geology, taught Introductory Geology Lab at USA as a Student Advisor, worked on the Student Activities Committee as the Movies Chairman, served as President of the Geology Club and Vice-President of the Environmental Sustainability Club.

I've had nearly every kind of animal as a pet at one point or another. I've had countless dogs and cats, a tarantula, a fire-bellied toad, anole lizards, iguanas, a rabbit, freshwater fish, fairy shrimp, bullfrogs, tree frogs, and hamsters, as well as cared for friends' pet turtles, hermit crabs, horses, pigs, and ferrets. I bred ball pythons for 9 years, as well as feeder rats and mice, crickets, mealworms, and earthworms. I've also got two wonderful children who are as excited about animals as I am, and have to pet every single dog they see!

WE LOVE WHAT WE DO!

WE LOVE TAKING CARE OF PETS!

We are professional pet care experts after all. We took our natural love of animal care to a whole new level with education and experience.

We could have chosen a different career, but this is where our heart is. We love animals and the people they belong to. Loving animals, people, and our community comes naturally.
